Onion Soup Mix Dip from scratch is the easiest dip you'll ever make! Made with sour cream and Homemade Onion Soup Mix! This dip is perfect for gatherings, bbq's, and picnics! Basically any party will benefit from this classic homemade dip!

Growing up, my mom would make this dip. She would use the store bought onion soup mix and mix it together with some sour cream in one of the 70's colored tupperware bowls. Am I aging myself here? We had the orange, brown, yellow and green bowls growing up. Along with all the plates, bowls and cups. Anyone else remember those? It's funny how I associate this delicious dip to the color of my childhood tupperware. 😂

How To Make Onion Soup Mix Dip From Scratch

    What You Need

    • 1 batch Homemade Onion Soup Mix (or if you have the store bought envelopes, you will need 1 envelope)
    • 2 cups or 16 oz container of sour cream
    • Parsley
    • Black Pepper

    Homemade Onion Soup Mix

    • ¼ cup minced or chopped dried onion flakes
    • 2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules
    • ½ teaspoon onion powder
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ⅛ teaspoon salt

Mix it all up! This is 1 batch and equal to one envelope of store bought.

    Make Delicious Dip

To make this dip, you literally just mix it up in a bowl! It's so dang easy!

After you combine the soup mix and sour cream, chill the dip for a hour or so. This helps the texture of the dip to be perfect!

Sprinkle some parsley and cracked black pepper on top of the dip before serving. I do this because it looks pretty and the hint of black pepper enhances the dip.

Serve the dip with your favorite potato chips! Growing up we always ate the dip with Fritos and pretzels. You can also use it as a veggie dip! It tastes so good with carrots and radishes!
