Homemade Onion Soup Mix comes together in a snap and is made with ingredients that you most likely have on hand! Plus, this isn't just a great quick soup and soup base, but it boosts flavor on roasts, in dips and rice dishes!

I have a confession... I rarely ever use this onion soup mix for soup. I love adding it to my crock pot roasts and it adds so much flavor in meatloaf. Plus, put it over some chicken and rice and oh my goodness is it good!

How To Make Homemade Onion Soup Mix

This recipe is so easy! All you need is 5 ingredients that are probably already hanging out in your pantry and 5 minutes to mix it all up!

    5 Ingredients Needed

    • ¼ cup dried minced or chopped onion flakes
    • 2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules
    • ½ teaspoon onion powder
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ⅛ teaspoon salt

    5 Minutes To Make

    First, gather your 5 ingredients!

Next in a small bowl, add all the ingredients and mix it all up!

Store it in an airtight container or use it right away! I like to keep a batch in my pantry in a mason jar.

If you are using the soup mix to make soup, add 4 cups boiling water to the mix. Let it set for about 5 minutes so the onion flakes have time to regain moisture and soften. Otherwise, you can add it to any recipe that calls for a packet of store bought onion soup mix.

This recipes makes the equivalent to one envelope of store bought mix.
