I've been cooking and baking since I was 14 years old, gaining experience in both restaurant kitchens and my own home kitchen. Over the years, I've learned what makes breakfast recipes reliable, flavorful, and worth sharing with family and friends. Every recipe I publish is carefully tested to ensure clear instructions and dependable results. This stuffed French toast is one of those recipes that combines simple ingredients with a presentation that feels extra special.

Stuffed French Toast Recipe Ingredients
- Sliced Strawberries
- White Sugar
- Cream Cheese
- Pure Vanilla Extract
- French Bread or Texas Toast
- Large Eggs
- Milk
- Cinnamon
- Salt
Substitution Suggestions
- Sliced Strawberries: Fresh berries work best. Frozen will have to much moisture and can make the french toast really soggy in the center. Try using other berries like: raspberries, blueberries or blackberries. Or a combination of berries!
- Cream Cheese: If you prefer you can use Neufchatel cheese or Mascarpone. The filling won't be as rich but it will still be delicious. If you like you can use a tub of whipped cream cheese, it's a little easier to stir and spread.
- Pure Vanilla Extract: I'm always repeating myself with this ingredient, but the pure extracts taste so much better in your goodies than the imitation stuff. The imitation extracts can leave an unpleasant aftertaste.
- French Bread: A nice loaf of french bread or texas toast works great for this recipe. My Homemade French Bread Recipe works great too! You can also use a loaf of sandwich bread too. It will change the bread to filling ratio but will still be delicious!
- Milk: Any type of milk will work. I use 2% cows milk. For a richer french toast you can also use heavy cream or half and half.

How to Make Stuffed French Toast with Cream Cheese and Strawberries
- First, gather all your ingredients and preheat a griddle to 350°F or a frying pan with butter or neutral oil on medium-low.
- Combine the sliced strawberries and tablespoon of sugar in a small bowl, stir them together and set the bowl aside for later.

- Next, in another small bowl, mix together the cream cheese and vanilla extract, until cheese is smooth. Set that bowl aside as well.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

- Now it is time to assemble the stuffed french toast. First, spread the cream cheese evenly over every piece of french bread, about a tablespoon or so on each piece.
- Then top 6 slices of bread evenly with the macerated sliced strawberries.

- Take the other 6 slices of bread and top the strawberry covered bread slices to make sandwiches. Give it a little smoosh so the sandwich will stay together.
- Dunk each sandwich in the egg mixture making sure to coat the entire sandwich.

- Then place the sandwich on preheated griddle or in frying pan. Cook the sandwiches until golden brown about 2-3 minutes, then flip the stuffed french toast and cook another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and egg custard is fully cooked.
- Serve with warm maple syrup and extra strawberries! Dig in friends and enjoy!

Serving Stuffed French Toast

Tips for Strawberries and Cream Stuffed French Toast
- Gather all your ingredients before you start cooking. This helps eliminate any mistakes or missing ingredients.
- Let the cream cheese soften so it is easier to mix.
- If you don't have an electric griddle, use a nonstick pan. The griddle is best because the heat is evenly distributed, but a nonstick skillet with some butter or oil will work too.
- Flip that french toast with confidence! Get the spatula all the way under the toast before flipping.
