These Air Fryer Zucchini Fries are healthy, crispy and so delicious! They make a perfect side dish or appetizer and a healthy snack.

The Air Fryer has become one of my new favorite appliances in the kitchen. It has been so fun experimenting new recipes with it. My newest recipe are these zucchini fries. They are so good and so dang delicious, plus there's no grease to mess with. I have had so much zucchini from my garden this year that I have been getting creative with it. These zucchini fries were a big hit! They were crispy, the zucchini was tender but yet had a nice bite to it, and they were delicious!

What is Needed to Make Air Fryer Zucchini Fries

    • Zucchini, cut into fries
    • Plain Breadcrumbs
    • Grated Parmesan Cheese
    • Everything but the Bagel Seasoning
    • Salt
    • Egg
    • Water
    • Olive Oil Cooking Spray

Best Way to Cut Zucchini into Fries

This is how I like to cut zucchini into fries. Depending on the size of your zucchini you will need to cut it in half. Then slice each half in half lengthwise. If there are any seeds, scoop them out with a spoon. Again, depending on the size of your zucchini you may have to cut the sections in half again. You want each section to be about 3-4 inches in length. Then slice each section of zucchini into sticks, about ½ inch thick.

How to Make Tasty Zucchini Fries in the Air Fryer

First, after you have cut your zucchini into fries you will need to make the breading. In a gallon size bag, combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, Everything but the Bagel seasoning and salt. Shake it up to mix it all together. Then you will need to make the egg wash. In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg and water until frothy.

Next, take about 3-4 zucchini sticks and dip them in the egg wash coating all sides. Place them in the bag with the breading and shake it until the zucchini sticks are coated with the breading. Place the prepared fries on a baking sheet while you finish with the rest of the zucchini.

Now, it is time to use the air fryer! Preheat the air fryer to 400°, place zucchini in the basket in a single layer not touching others. We want the air to circulate around each fry to make them nice and crispy. Then spray the top of the fries with the cooking spray. Fry the zucchini for 8 minutes. If the zucchini isn't quite brown enough, fry for another 1-2 minutes at 400°. Once they are done, place them on a baking sheet and in a 170° oven while you finish air frying the rest of the fries.

Tips for Making the Best Air Fryer Zucchini Fries

    1. Cut the zucchini fries all the same size. This will ensure they all take the same amount of time to cook.
    2. Make sure none of the fries are touching in the air fryer. If they are overlapping, the fries will not get crispy.
    3. Prepare all the fries first, and then fry them in batches.
    4. Keep the fries warm in a 170° while you air fry in batches.
    5. Serve them with some of your favorite fry dipping sauces.

How to BAKE Zucchini Fries in the Oven

If you do not have an air fryer you can use the oven. There are two ways to bake them in the oven.

    1. Place the prepared zucchini fries on an oven safe rack on a rimmed baking sheet. Spray the tops of the fries with cooking spray and bake in a 400° oven for 15-20 minutes until crispy.
    2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray the paper with cooking spray. Place zucchini fries on parchment paper and spray the fries with cooking spray. Bake in a 400° for 10 minutes, then flip the fries and bake for another 10 minutes.
