Summer Fruit Salad is incredibly refreshing and sweet. This salad is filled with loads of colorful fruit making it perfect for breakfast, snack or even dessert! Serve it up at your next brunch meal or summer party!
I'm a sucker for fruit anything. Fruit desserts, fruit on salads, and fruit in general as a snack. This Summer Fruit Salad has got to be one of my all time favorite fruit dishes. It's simple to put together and with my secret ingredient it will stay fresh in the fridge!
Fruit Needed for this Summer Fruit Salad
- half cantaloupe
- 2 cups red grapes
- half honeydew melon
- 2 cups green grapes
- half of mini seedless watermelon
- half pint blueberries
- 15 oz can sliced peaches in 100% juice, roughly drained
- 2-4 Tablespoons 100% juice from the canned peaches
Make it Your Own!
You can add any type of fruit you like. Normally, if the strawberries are looking good, I'll add those too. I love pineapple with mine, however we have a pineapple hater in this house, so I cut it up and serve it separate. You could add fresh oranges or canned mandarin oranges instead of peaches or even both. You could substitute the orange juice for the peach juice. Whatever you and your family loves, make it your way!
How to Make Summer Fruit Salad
This is the easiest salad recipe ever. Simply chop and mix!
Clean the grapes and blueberries, set aside to dry a bit.
Chop the melons into bite size pieces. I like 1 inch cubes, or close to it. Or you can use a melon baller and make pretty balls.
Open the can of peaches and using the lid, roughly drain the juice from the peaches into a small bowl or glass.
Add all the fruit to a large bowl. Then add 2-4 tablespoons of the secret ingredient!
Do you know what the secret ingredient is?
No? I'll tell you! The secret ingredient is the juice! The 100% juice from the peaches has enough acid and natural sugars from the fruit concentrate to help keep the fruit fresh and prevents it from getting soggy and limp which can happen fast, especially on very humid days. The size of the melons and grapes will decide how much juice you need to add. I usually add about half of the reserved juice, however I've been lazy many times and just added the entire can of peaches and juice to the bowl of fruit. It doesn't hurt to have extra juice!
Serving the Salad
- Serve it for breakfast, brunch, snack, or as a side dish to any meal.
- Add a dollop of whip cream and serve it as a refreshing dessert.
- Use it in a yogurt parfait.
- I also fill a medium size bowl and send it to work with the hubby. My hubby works outside most days, so the cold fruit is nice to have at lunch.
- To serve this salad for a crowd on a warm day, put the bowl of fruit salad inside another bowl filled with ice. It will help keep the salad cold throughout the party.

Summer Fruit Salad
Ingredients
- ½ cantaloupe
- ½ honeydew melon
- ½ mini seedless watermelon
- 2 cups red grapes
- 2 cups green grapes
- ½ pint blueberries, about 1 cup
- 1 15 oz can sliced peaches in 100% juice
- 2-4 tablespoons reserved 100% peach juice
Instructions
- Wash grapes and blueberries, set aside to dry.
- Cut melons into chunks or use a melon baller.
- Roughly drain the peaches, saving the juice.
- Add all the fruit to a large bowl. Gently mix it.
- Add the peach juice. Depending on the size of your melons and grapes will determine how much juice you need. Just enough to slightly coat the fruit, but you can add it all. It won't hurt the fruit.
- Chill until ready to serve.
