Ingredients

Instructions

  • Heat treat the flour in the microwave or in the oven to at least 160°F.
Microwave Method: In a large microwave safe bowl add the amount of flour you need heat treated. Place in microwave for 30 seconds. Whisk flour and place back in microwave for 15-30 seconds, depending on amount of flour. If the amount of flour is over 2 cups, do 30 seconds. If it is just a small amount, do 15 seconds. Whisk flour again and set aside to cool.
Oven Method: Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the desired amount of flour on prepared sheet pan and bake for 5 minutes. Set pan aside to cool.
  • In a microwave safe bowl or on the stove over low heat, melt butter.
  • To a large batter bowl combine: melted butter, 1 cup dark chocolate chips and instant coffee granules. Whisk together until the chocolate has completely melted.
  • Next add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until completely combined.
  • Now add the unsweetened cocoa powder, heat treated flour and salt. Stir together until thoroughly combined.
  • Thin out the batter with milk. Add as much or as little you need to reach desired consistency.
  • Fold in the remaining chocolate chips or other mix-in's.
  • Enjoy with a spoon or use a cookie scoop and make individual portions.
