Banana Nut Bars

This Banana Nut Bars recipe is a delicious and quick dessert that is a breeze to make. A great way to use up some overripe bananas and treat your sweet tooth!

  • Preheat oven to 350° and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  • In a stand mixer or with a hand beater, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla and eggs, one egg at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add the salt, cinnamon, and all purpose flour and mix just until combined.
  • Add half of the bananas and mix through.
  • Add the whole wheat flour and mix just until combined.
  • Add the remaining bananas and ½ cup of walnuts and mix until incorporated.
  • Evenly spread the batter in greased dish. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup walnuts on top of the batter.
  • Bake the bars for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with few crumbs.
  • Let bars cool for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
