Egg In A Hole

The simplest breakfast that is a family pleaser! Egg In A Hole is toasted bread with a soft egg in the center, fried in some yummy butter and all made in one pan! A perfect fuss free breakfast that the kiddies love!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cut a hole in the middle of each slice of bread using a cookie cutter, biscuit cutter, glass or jar.
  • Melt the butter in a large flat skillet over medium heat.
  • Place the bread and pieces in the pan and cook for a minute to begin toasting the bread.
  • Reduce the heat to low and crack an egg in the center of each slice of bread.
  • Cook for 2 minutes until the egg whites look about half way cooked.
  • Flip the bread and pieces and cook another 2 minutes until the eggs are done to your liking and the bread is toasted.

Notes

Make it more fun and use shaped cookie cutters!
