Homemade Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Homemade Vanilla Bean Ice Cream is incredibly creamy and dreamy. This ice cream is a classic! Super simple and filled with tons of real little vanilla bean flecks.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups whole milk, or 2%
  • cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 vanilla beans, seeds scraped out
  • teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Using a sharp pairing knife, slice the vanilla beans lengthwise. Use the tip of the knife to scrape the seeds out of the vanilla beans.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, vanilla seeds, and salt until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Cover the bowl and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  • Follow your ice cream makers instructions to make the ice cream.
  • Normally at the end of the churning time, the ice cream will be a soft serve consistency. Place the ice cream in a freezer safe container and freeze for about 4 hours until the ice cream is firm.

Notes

This is the ice cream maker I use. It is simple to use, easy to clean and fits nice and neat on my shelf. Plus, its affordable!
